  • Be the you, you imagine yourself to be

    When I was younger I always imagined myself being a business woman. I don’t know what the business was or what I would do but I knew I wanted to be in charge.

    As I got older and became naturally good at a lot of things, the idea of being a business woman didn’t leave me but it became a distant thought.

    What I wish is that I had an elder to guide me and my thoughts or aspirations. However, nobody I was around had done anything I was thinking of.

    Now after being at job that paid well but I didn’t enjoy for so long, my dreams and aspirations seem to be trying to come to the forefront. But now what do I do? How do I foster those dreams, those aspirations? How do I make them come to life?

    That is the quest that I’m on at this stage in my life. Life after 40, the saga continues…

  • Jubilee 2022!

    A Jubilee for Juneteenth!

    On Sunday June 19, 2022, a time was had at the second annual Jubilee event, curated by Chef Jeff (@chefjeffdidit) and Sabrina (@naturalpartnersincrime).

    We were welcomed with a grand entrance surrounded by gold and cream balloons. Once entered, we were then greeted with someone asking if we wanted to partake in some wine. It was really cute. As I continued walking, the beauty of the room and in the room consumed me. It Wowed me. It had me stuck in my tracks for a quick minute, but I quickly regained my senses and baby, the people showed up! And they looked beautiful. The energy was felt! Women complementing each other left and right. It was all good vibes and energy. The men were respectful while dancing and were dressed for the occasion as well. It was definitely a grown crowd! Hor d’oeuvres were passed, and drinks were served. The drinks were sponsored by Courvoisier. It was a time!

    The celebration was split into two “flights”. First flight was from 1-4 and the second flight was from 5-8pm. Which worked out because they catered everyone who wanted to support and maybe couldn’t make it earlier or vice versa.

    Listen, we had a great time and it’s only the beginning of summer. I plan on summering like I never summered before!
